Susan Wilson Solovic was the keynote speaker at the 2012 Women of Influence Awards, the ninth event hosted by the Jacksonville Business Journal and sponsored by Bank of America and the Jacksonville Women’s Business Center. The event, held on September 6, 2012, recognizes contributions from the First Coast’s most influential women in business.

The Jacksonville Business Journal honored influential women ranging in vocation from financial advisers and health care professionals to lawyers and nonprofit champions for the less fortunate. JBJ staff began our selection process for this year’s 20 honorees in June. They sought nominations via fax, email and their website for six weeks, garnering nearly 70 nominations.

Solovic is an award-winning entrepreneur, journalist, New York Times bestselling author, multi-media personality, former Fortune 100 company marketing executive and attorney.  She is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Saint Louis University, which is one of the top-rated entrepreneurial schools in the United States. She’s also a tireless advocate for women in business, serving on prestigious national councils such as the National Women’s Business Council, which counsels the President, Congress, and the SBA on issues affecting women business owners, and the Institute for the Economic Empowerment of Women.
